Some days there are no words. No beautiful phrases or metaphors or poetic similes. No new divine revelations. No sweet stories to share.
Today is one of those days. Today is Aida's third birthday. Here is what I wrote on the blog two years ago on this day. Here is what I wrote on the blog last year on this day. And here is a small part of what I wrote last year in my journal on January 6th, 2013: "Draw her to You, Lord. Let her come know to You personally and intimately and experience Your saving grace. Let her live her life for You in the richness and joy of obedient faith. Help us release her to You and Your plan. Now and always. No matter what happens. You know we love and yearn for her Lord. We know You love and yearn for her more." So today, when there are no words... I'll remember last year's. Happy birthday, darling Aida. Praying every day for a family you can call your own.

Thankful list for December: -the way Tucker and Libby still talk about Aida -ornaments that remind us of her -thinking about all that happened and changed over the past year and how He guided and walked with us through the hardest of days, all the while looking with hope for what this year holds and trusting she has never left His plan. And a few random things that have nothing to do with adoption: -BSM leadership Christmas party -Libby's preschool program (and Kasi's attendance) -Christmas decorations (especially my favorites-Christmas trees and white lights) -Christmas cards hanging over our windows -a doll house decorated for Christmas -Hockey game (thanks to the White's generosity) -Christmas hymns at church -little girls having fingernails painted -kids spending as much time as they can by the Christmas tree -Tucker's new love for cutting out snowflakes -college girls' ornament painting party -advent wreath and Truth in the Tinsel -Mahler's having dinner with us -driving around looking at Christmas lights -dessert with Kelli -first family mission trip to Mission Arlington -M.E. Beth coming over for hot chocolate and cookie baking -lunch with Krista -getting to tell Vicki I'm coming to Uganda to see her!! -Fantasy of Lights with Sunday School class -Libby's preschool class field trips -safe travels to North Carolina -time with Ben's family that included- the National Gingerbread competition, caroling to Mr. Jack and Mrs. Caroline, a Christmas day walk, mining, movie watching, game playing, Lego building, s'more making, monkey bread eating, dancing, singing, gift exchanging, bread baking, and more. -safe travels to Georgia
-time with my family that included- seeing extended family, a brief visit with the Warnock's, movie watching, bike rides, game playing, lego building, cookie baking, playing at the park, singing, staying up late with cousins, a picnic, way too much Trivia Crack, gift exchanging, and more. |
AuthorWe are a family of five (Ben, Beth, Tucker, Libby, and Zane). We started this blog during our 7 year journey to bring home a child through adoption. This is our story of how God is faithful in the good, the bad, and all the in between. Archives
