Thankful List for July: -adoptions hopes -then adoption disappointments -"The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him." Lamentations 3:25 And a few random things that have nothing to do with adoption: -a great visit with Vincent Mack (we are so proud of the man he has become, thankful to have him in our home) -4th of July fun with college students -our bathroom renovation adventure began and included lots of interesting finds: a hidden window, multiple layers of wallpaper, shiplap, handwritten notes from the 1940's. -time with siblings, time with friends, time with college students -dinner at the King's house
-Finding Dory at the Graham drive in with the Tillers -FatihKidZ week was a success -Church Without Walls -Mrs. Lauren's end of the year party for the 1st and 2nd grade Sunday School class... she loves our kids so well -a new baby is coming into our family... we are so excited for Katie and Andy! -and so much more...

Thankful List for June: -waiting... and trying to be thankful for His timing -"Adoption can make more love, and risk can make more hope, and giving dangerously can make a heart miraculously fuller." Ann Voskamp -“Faith does not eliminate questions. But faith knows where to take them.” Elizabeth Elliot And a few random things that have nothing to do with adoption: -getting to spend one on one time with Libby while the boys went to Colorado on a missioin trip-playing in the rain, watching Peter Pan, listening to her read, having tons of intentional conversations, watching every single American Girl movie, hearing her say over and over "I love you so much, Mommy" because quality time is her love language. -Melissa Sharp and the multiple times she watched Libby -hearing and seeing the updates of the guys mission trip and Tuck's excitement over all the extra thing they got to do (visit Wyoming briefly, visit Garden of the gods, attend a Colorado Rockies game). And the reports of how hard our 8 year old worked- keeping up with college students, serving right beside them, and even taking orders and making sandwiches for each student). Thankful they got to share this trip together. -June preschool/children's ministry activities -dinner and dessert with Tiller's -our family vacation road trip: first stop St. Louis where we met up with my parents -St. Louis: riding to the top of the Arch -St. Louis: visiting the City Museum -St. Louis: attending St. Louis Cardinals game -Springfiled, IL: short stop to visit Lincoln's house (the kids found becoming Junior Park Rangers way more interesting) -Next stop: Bridgeman, Michigan to visit our dear friends- the Withers -Michigan: visiting local children's museum and ice cream, eating great pizza -Visiting Notre Dame, playing in the Withers back yard, watching the girls "trampoline show", catching fire flie s -Watching the sunset over Lake Michigan -Sweet time for these two friends -Chicago: Navy Pier, deep dish pizza, Chicago Cubs game for the boys, getting to catch up with an old friend and meet her youngest babies. -Travels for the kids to visit Nana and Papa: seeing lots of family, geocaching, lizard catching adventures, swimming, making pretzels, painting -Travels for kids to see Mimi and Pops- seeing more family, watching Finding Dory, seeing the Braves, hiking, kayaking, bread and soap making -Tuck getting to visit four new ballparks in one month. -dinner out with Carson and Kelli
-a long phone call with Dianna...so good to catch up with her -Kasi dying my hair -Church without Walls -Getting to fly back with the kids (they were so excited to fly again), Having them back home. Thankful list for May: -getting all our adoption paperwork done and updated AGAIN -a phone call and the first forward movement in our adoption process we have experienced in a long time...hope "For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him." -Psalm 62:5 And a few random things that have nothing to do with adoption: -Mimi and Pops here for a few days in May -Ben finished off an amazing year at the BSM- so proud of this guy, the intern Ashley, and student leadership... God worked through them in mighty ways this year for the sake of MSU's campus. -Murder Mystery dinner theatre with Robert and Kelli -Mother's Day surprises -a new house for my parents -lots of people coming to watch Tuck play baseball -getting to visit with Melissa -end of the year fun- field trips, award ceremonies, leadership team party, graduations, commissioning service, etc -Kasi and Gills over for dinner: hearing about Kasi's trip -lunch with Kim, lunch with Krista -the Cash's made it safely to the states (trying to be happy that Dianna is on the same continent as me... even though I can't see her) -an exciting new adventure for our friends the Grammers (even if it means we are losing them)... love their obedient faith -Tuck and Ben and students on a mission trip to Colorado, love getting the updates and pictures -lots of girl time with Libby -so many of our students serving this summer for GoNow missions -getting to see my fellow children's ministry friends in Dallas (getting to meet their spouses and Cate playing with Libby) -13 years of marriage... what a journey we are sharing "We serve Him with gladness because we do not bear the burden of meeting His needs. Rather we rejoice in service where He meets our needs." -John Piper
Thankful List for April: -friends making progress in their adoption plans And a few random things that have nothing to do with adoption: -kids trying to feed ducks -quilts -getting to watch Tuck and Noah play baseball together -getting to watch Hollis play soccer -celebrating Charlotte's 60th birthday -celebrating Carson's 30th birthday -painting party: money raised for missions - a trip to Nashville: meant rare time with my brother, sister-in-law, and nephew (and getting to see their beautiful new home), an amazing Kid's ministry conference (and so many great resources), and sharing a special connection with new friends (thankful to walk through the highs and lows of children's ministry with them through a thousand message group text) -celebrating Ben's 36th birthday: thankful for his integrity, passion, leadership, wisdom, and corny jokes -Mimi and Pop's visit: Ranger's game, geocaching, shopping, homemade bread, Tuck finally learning to ride his bike -Mimi, Libby, and I were fine after our car accident when a woman ran a stop sign. I've thought many times how grateful I am we weren't there 2 seconds earlier... the outcome could have been so very different. -book fairs -x-rays gave us answers and a plan at a checkup for Libby -poptart postcard from Dianna -Sundress candles from Bath and Body Works -finishing Prince Caspian with the kids -freckles -empty trashcans -watching Libby love swimming lessons “Aslan" said Lucy "you're bigger".

Jon Bloom And a few random things that have nothing to do with adoption: jumping Narnia knighting ceremonies outdoor baby showers MSU basketball game 90's dress up day Rock and Worship Roadshow Tour changes baseball practices spring break big month for Libby: doing announcements at school, loosing her first tooth, starting swim lessons, turning 6 grateful for all 6 years with our spunky, creative, daring girl my parents visit: eating outside, going to see Zootopia, celebrating Easter, painting a wall, building furniture, celebrating Easter, visiting Urban Air trampoline park, all of the things they did for us and the time we enjoyed together
